Located on Calle Cabo San Lucas (one way towards downtown) just north of downtown is San Lucero Restaurant and Wine Bar. With a large free parking lot, it is an easy restaurant to stop for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I have been regularly seeing their posts on social media for their afternoon Executive Menu – soup or salad, a main course and dessert from 2:00 to 4:00 each day for $215 mx. I decided to stop and see what the restaurant and menu were like.
The center of the restaurant is a very long bar with stool seating all around the u-shape. On the left side of the room and the back are tables with a long banquet behind them. There is also outside seating beside a swimming pool. Windows along the whole left side of the restaurant look out toward the pool and downtown Cabo San Lucas. At the back of the restaurant is also a feature wall displaying bottles of red wine – true to the name of the restaurant.
The menu offers snacks, soups and salad, dishes from the ranch and sea, homemade pastas and pizza – clearly an Italian slant to the choices. I ordered and drink and was presented with a small tray of four warm rolls. I decided to try their pasta bolognese. When I was served the large bowl of fettuccine pasta, there was both a bolognese sauce and a whole series of small meatballs. The server asked me if I would like some freshly grated parmesan cheese added to the pasta – of course. The flavor of the dish was great and the portion size was large.
With this brief introduction to the restaurant, I have decided to go back with Beth to try San Lucero for dinner.
