Dawn Solomon and the Baja Vine Club offers several wine pairing dinners a month in Cabo San Lucas. The most recent was a wine and sushi event at The Wine Market in Plaza Pioneros in Cabo San Lucas. The four-course menu for this event was the following:
1st course: Sashimi of the Day paired with a Alxima 100% Sauvignon Blanc
2nd course: Curricanes paired with 2021 Disteria Viognier
3rd course: Fresh Tuna Tostada paired with a 2022 Rose Mourvedre & Grenache
4th course: Salmon Roll paired with Tres Raices award winning Pinot Noir.
The setting for this wine pairing dinner was unique as it was in an actual wine store that has a number of tables. It was a small dinner, and the sushi was provided by The Sushi House, which is also located in Plaza Pioneros. Dawn Solomon introduced each of the wines and Antonio served us the sushi items with which they were paired. As a white wine drinker, with an allergy to red wines, I was very happy with this event. We also had the opportunity to taste the Rose in both a white wine and red wine glass to see the difference as a result. It was a very interesting test.
Photos of each of the courses and the wine are included below.
