On the drive back from the Valle de Guadalupe, I stayed the first night in San Felipe but decided to stay somewhere different than Santa Rosalía or Loreto for the next night. So, looking on Travelocity, I found a boutique hotel in Cuidad Constitución, María de Nadie. Fonatur is trying to get more attention to CD Constitución so I thought this would be a good place to stay for the night.
María de Nadie Boutique Hotel is a few blocks east of the main street and has been open for four years. The hotel has a bar/restaurant/store and a pool, and they are currently adding a whole new section to the property. The rooms are a combination of modern and rustic and very comfortable. With a mini-split air conditioner, the room was also very cool, while it was in the mid 90s outside. The entrance to the hotel is through a small garden with outdoor seating for the restaurant off to the right. The lobby area has seating and some nice artwork on the walls. The woman at the desk was very helpful in giving me a history of the hotel as well as opening the gate so I could park securely inside the property.
As it was a late Sunday night, the restaurant wasn’t opened and so I asked her if there were good restaurants nearby. The main boulevard through Constitución has several and so I walked up and went to a Teriyaki and Sushi place on the corner.
The room rate at María de Nadie includes breakfast as so before I left in the morning, I stopped for fresh squeezed orange juice and huevos a la Mexicana, which came with flour tortillas. The appetizer for breakfast was a half slice of french toast covered in cinnamon. It was delicious.
It was good to stop in Constitución. The next time, we will spend more time and explore the area, including driving out to the Pacific.
