Los Tres Gallos in the Art District in San Jose Del Cabo

Located on the main gallery street (Alvaro Obregon) in the Art District is Los Tres Gallos (The Three Roosters). The restaurant has two levels of outdoor seating with an incredible 100′ + high tree in the center of the restaurant. String lights illuminate both levels. From the street you can recognize the restaurant by its display of tequila – including Clase Azul – on the wall that opens to the view of the restaurant courtyard.

The menu is Los Tres Gallos is influenced by the traditional styles and dishes from all over Mexico. Our server, Francisco was excellent at providing us information about the history of the restaurant and the items on the menu. He placed tortilla chips and two different salsas on the table for us to nibble on as we ordered our first bottle of wine – Monte Xanic Chardonnay – one of the best from the Guadalupe Valley in northern Baja. At Los Tres Gallos, one of the appetizer specialties is Caesar Salad made table side. For our entrées, I ordered the vegetable fajitas, which came with big slices of portobello mushroom and sides of Mexican rice, beans and guacamole. I asked for flour tortillas. Jerry ordered the chicken enchiladas in a mole sauce, accompanied by rice and beans. Both of our main courses were excellent in flavor, portion size and quality.

However, looking at the dessert menu, we decided that we had to try their other table side specialty – Plantanos Flameados – their version of bananas foster. The whole exhibition was great, especially as the flaming sauce is poured down a spiral peeled orange onto the dish. It was absolutely delicious.

As we were finishing our meal. Juan, the manager came over to ask us how our experience had been. We enthusiastically offered that it had been great.
