Jalisco is the center of the production of Tequila. Our recent post about the growth of the tequila industry reveals how quickly the export of tequilas is growing for Mexico. However, most of us only are aware of the best known brands of Tequila – Clase Azul, Patron, Don Julio, José Cuervo, Herradura, Hornitos, Trés Generations, Casamigos, Cabo Wabo. But stopping into the Tequila store on Independencia in Tlaquepaque gives you a sense of the hundreds and hundreds of brands of tequila that are available on the market in Mexico.

While not all of them may be exported, it will take quite a while to taste the brands available. If you are in Los Cabos, there are a number of retail stores that offer tequila tasting or some (e.g., West Coast Tequila) will even come to your house or hotel and host a tequila tasting party for you.
