Jorge Gomez Podiatry for Inserts

John Anderson, Editor

My wife has had increasing problems with her feet. She was on the outsides of her feet (pronates) and this means that he feet frequently hurt. Given my success with Jorge Gomez, she decided to go when I went for the check up on my toenail fungus. His office is located on Calle Paseo de Pescador near the CFE office in San Jose del Cabo.

Beth and Jorge discussed her feet and how they hurt. She told him that her molded Birkenstock sandals were the most comfortable for her. He showed her how her toes were no longer straight due to the way that she walked and the impact on her arches. By pushing on the bottom of her feet, he was able to show her where her toes should be. While inserts of different kinds are available in some stores, he suggested that the best way to address the problem was to create a custom insert for each foot.

He then proceeded to make plaster casts of each of her feet with them in the position that they needed to be for her to walk correctly. A cast was made of each foot. He made an appointment for the next week for her to come to pick up the cast and to fit them into her shoes. Of course, this required also buying some new shoes to better fit the inserts.

He told her to start by getting used to the inserts for only two or three hours a day. Beth is now using them for longer and has walking shoes and sandals in which they fit better. Jorge Gomez will monitor the progress in the reshaping of her feet and her walk over the next few months.
