Caffe Todos Santos has always been a great place for breakfast – and now it is even better. The owners, Angelo and Magda have taken over the space previously owned by La Morena on Benito Juarez, the main street of Todos Santos. Caffe Todos Santos is also right next door to Tre Galline, their Italian restaurant.

Walking into Caffe Todos Santos, you immediately see the renovations and the new ambiance created by Caffe Todos Santos. The main wall in the first room (where the bar is located) has a mural painted that seems to depict the combination of desert and hacienda style buildings that is Todos Santos. Paintings from the old location have been added to the walls. The outdoor area toward the back has also be completely updated with a pergola covering most of the room, the comfortable chairs and tables from the previous location and the kitchen area behind the stage has been completely closed off.

I saw the great musician and a friend, Chris Paulson sitting at a table in the front dining area and asked to join him for breakfast. The server provided me with a menu and asked what I would like to drink. As before the menu offers lots of good choices for breakfast – chilaquiles, huevos ranchero, several omelets, eggs, bagels, avocado toast, burritos, pancakes and fruit. The lunch and dinner part of the menu had added a great selection of Mexican food including tacos, quesadillas, flautas, tostadas, enchiladas, chile rellenoand salads, sandwiches and more. Chris had ordered the huevos ranchoro and I chose huevos a la Mexicana. When our food came the platters were huge. Chris said that he loved the huevos ranchero and my plate came with refried beans and a basket of warm tortillas. The eggs were great and a made a taco with the eggs, beans, and salsa. It was a great breakfast.

Chris had to leave for a meeting. When I finished my breakfast, I was told by the server that Chris had paid for my meal too. Thank you, Chris. Chris is an amazing singer/songwriter who performs in Todos Santos, Pescadero and around the area. Every Thursday night he is at Caffe Todos Santos, Tuesday at Besos de Mezcal in Pescadero (often with guests), Wednesdays at Landi’s in Todos Santos and on Saturdays of the rooftop of his home, Casa Barbara (again often with guests). If you haven’t seen him, it is well worth the evening of enjoyment.
