We used to regularly go to Chin’s in The Shoppes at Palmilla, and were there the night before the restaurant closed. When it relocated, we went the night after the restaurant opened. Beth had a craving for Chinese food and so we decided to return for another visit to this excellent Chinese restaurant in Los Cabos. The design is very interesting. You enter through a bamboo doorway with a Budha in the middle of the entry. The garden is surrounded by both bamboo walls and thick palms trees. In the center of the garden is a large umbrella structure with red fabric and bamboo spreading out to cover a lot of the outdoor dining area. The kitchen is on the back right and the bar shares the space with Nicksan.
We were offered menus, which offers choices of appetizers, soup and salads, poultry dishes, seafood dishes, beef dishes, noodles, and fried rice. We chose to start with soup – Hot & Sour for me and Wonton for Beth. I love Hot & Sour soup and Chin’s is the only place that I have been able to get it. For our main courses, Beth ordered the shrimp with lobster sauce and I chose the Lemon Chicken. Both dishes were excellent. The lemon sauce on the chicken and the bed of lettuce was delicious. Our meal was finished with a small dessert provided by Chin’s of fruit in a spoon.
The flavor and portion size of the dishes was very good, the service excellent and the atmosphere very nice. If you like high quality Chinese food, Chin’s is worth a visit.
