We had been watching construction go on behind a fence in the northwest corner of the Chedraui Selecto parking lot in San Jose del Cabo at the roundabout. It was a while before that we determined that it was going to be an automated carwash – Mako Carwash. The sign with a caricature of a Mako Shark announces a $120 peso price for the car wash. I watched for a while as one worker sprayed and prepared a car to enter the carwash and another at the other end was drying a care as it came out. There are also four stations with vacuums under cover to do other work on client’s cars. The social media says that it takes about 4 minutes to go through the carwash and that the whole system is ecologically designed.
