We were very impressed with Los Mangos Food Park when we visited a few weeks ago. It is a great concept – four restaurants share the same indoor and outdoor seating areas and servers, dramatically reducing the overhead cost to each. We were greeted at the entrance to the property and led to a table in the inside dining room. Our servers from the last visit – Jose and Paulina – recognized us and provided us with the combined menu of the four restaurants. Both of us were in the mood for steak and so we focused on the Muu Steakhouse menu. Beth asked for the arrachera (flank steak) cooked medium. The steaks come with a salad but she added French fries to her order. I decided to try the rib eye, which is bigger that the portion size of the arrachera (450 g vs. 300 g), cooked medium rare. I also asked for the side of grilled vegetables that we could share.
The steaks looked great and came with a gravy to add even more flavor to the meat. My rib eye was huge. So much so, that I took more than half of it home. The steaks were cooked to the right temperature. The salads had a great light vinaigrette dressing. The grilled vegetable platter was large and included corn on the cob, onions, yellow and red peppers, asparagus, and more. There was also a basket of garlic bread to enjoy with the meal. Portion sizes, presentation and flavors were all excellent.
While I abstained, Beth was provided with a large round serving of Tiramisu that was light and had chocolate chips both inside and on top. There is also several pieces of fruit and some powdered chocolate.
As on our last visit, Jose and Paulina did an excellent job and Erick the manager dropped by to introduce himself and ask how we enjoyed our meal.As we were leaving a duo was just finishing setting up to perform live music in the outdoor area.
