ART GARDEN AND ART WALK IN SAN JOSE DEL CABO

John Anderson, Editor

Thursday evening from 5:00 pm, Plaza Mijares is taken over by local artists showing their work. Dozens of artists set up their paintings, sculptures, and unique jewelry items. Under cover along the west side of the plaza under cover dozens more artisans show their jewelry and crafts. In addition, to the art in Plaza Mijares, all of the galleries in the Art District are displaying the work of better-known artists of all styles – photography, impressionistic, plein aire, tree bark and more. Many of the galleries offer wine or other inducements for visitors to spend time looking at the works of art. Downtown San Jose del Cabo teems with people enjoying the Art Walk, having dinner before or after they view the artwork.

We visited in mid-February and a special display was also setup for Valentine’s Day. Two member of Mala Rhumba were preforming live music at one corner of the plaza. It is always a unique and enjoyable experience.  Take a tour of the artists and galleries of Art Walk with us through the photos included in the post.
