The sun and salt in Los Cabos cause real damage to anything that is outside. Our upholstery on our upstairs outdoor furniture in our townhouse in Pueblo Campestre had seriously deteriorated over the three years that we have owned it. The fabric had thinned and small tears had appeared. It is clear that the fabric is not Sunbrella or a similar quality fabric.
We had met Abigail Casarubbias several years ago when her brother Jesus was doing a lot of work on our house in Zacatitos. She had redone the outdoor furniture for a number of our friends on the East Cape. We contacted her and asked if she would come and give us an estimate on three different projects at our home. The first was to re-upholster the love seat and two chairs on the deck on our second floor of the townhouse. Beth also wanted to simplify it by making the two cushions on the seat in the love seat into a single cushion. We wanted good quality outdoor fabric. Abigail provided my wife with the choice that were available for fabric colors.
The second project was to create a cushion for the back of the bench that we had Carmat Carpinteria build for our courtyard at the entry to the townhouse. Originally, it did not have any cushions. We had one made for the seat but decided that it would be best to also have one done for the back of the bench. This needed to be in an outdoor fabric in the same color of blue as the cushion already made for the seat.
The third project was to re-upholster the large L-shaped sofa that we have in our patio outside the living room and dining room. The cushions were having the same issue as the loveseat and chairs on the second floor. As we had ordered new covers for the two cushions from the manufacturer for the two cushions that had damage, we decided to delay this decision.
Abigail took measurements and made drawings of the cushions on the loveseat and chairs and measured the bench. The next day, she provided my wife with an estimate of the costs of each project. Beth selected the color of the fabric that she wanted to use. We agreed on the first two projects and she came the next day to pick up the cushions from our upstairs outdoor seating area. Less than two weeks later, she returned with all of the work completed. The cushions now have a great outdoor fabric, look fabulous at the reasonable cost. Thank you, Abigail
