Puerto Los Cabos has a number of private-gated communities, including one of the largest Fundadores. Innovacion Solar provided a complete solar solution for Fundadores 81. The solar system includes 37 solar panels covering every flat surface on the roof of the house. The panels are installed with Innovacion Solar’s patented racking system that has never lost a panel since the start of the company in 2009. One of the very important parts of a solar installation is the wiring and making sure that it is completely protected from the elements, especially water to ensure that shorts are not possible.

The energy from the solar panels is converted into electricity to both charge the lithium-ion batteries and provide electricity during the day to operate everything in the house. The two Sol-Ark 18 kW inverters are in a climate-controlled room with its own mini-split air conditioner. The energy is stored in three battery management cabinets, which hold three 5.12 kW lithium-ion batteries. The total storage capacity of the system is just over 46 kWs. Innovacion is currently in final discussions with the manufacturer of these batteries to do a branded version for Innovacion Solar. In addition to the batteries, Innovacion Solar added a Kohler generator, which automatically engages if there is no power from either the grid or the solar system. This required the design of the special electrical connection to ensure that the propane generate operated as desired.

According to the property manager, who gave us access to the system, it is functioning perfectly.
