There are seven restaurants in El Triunfo. We discovered that all are primarily open for breakfast and lunch closing at 3:00 pm. Two stay open until 4:00 or 5:00 pm. We arrived in town just after noon and chose El Triunfo Restaurant just on the north edge of town to stop for a late breakfast. This cute Mexican restaurant has a dozen or so wooden tables covered with colorful Mexican table cloths and wooden chairs. While the dining is outdoors it is under the cover of a metal roof. Our server brought us the breakfast menu as asked what we would like to drink.

The menu offered hot cakes, eggs any way that you would like them, chilaquiles, empanadas, quesadillas, burritos, tamales and more. Beth decided on an omelet with bacon, avocado, and onions. I asked for my standard – Huevos a la Mexicana. It took almost no time for our orders to be delivered. Each of the egg dishes came with refried beans and a large piece of cheese or cheese curd. The portion sizes were good, our server was very nice and helpful. It was a great start to our adventure in El Triunfo after driving up from San Jose del Cabo.
