TACOS EL POBLANO

John Anderson, Editor

Todos Santos is full of small restaurants, serving all different styles of food. Looking for small taco places, I saw a lot of positive reviews for Tacos El Poblano on Calle Heroico Colegio Militar, between Márquez de León and Hidalgo. It is a simple place with a large dining area. As I walked in, the cook at the grill offered me a menu. There were also menus painted on the walls. The menu offers a wide choice of tacos, vampires, burritos, sandwiches and sandwiches with cheese, quesadillas, stuffed baked potatoes, and large orders of meat and the fixings to go.

I ordered two tacos – one chicken and one al pastor – with flour tortillas. She asked if I would like the extras on the tacos – onions, cilantro, guacamole, cilantro and salsa. Definitely. I also ordered a Jamaica water to drink. I chose a table in the main dining area, which had murals painted on two of the walls. A server brought me a tray full of sliced cucumbers, radishes, limes and salsa.

When the tacos were served, each had a lot of meat – chicken and al pastor and were piled high with the extras. The flavors were excellent with fresh tortillas. The prices were also very good – two tacos and two large drinks came to $190 pesos.
