Located on Jose Maria Morelos just of off Benito Juarez beside the ice cream parlor in Todos Santos is Mejibo Cocina Honesta. The restaurant has seating both on the sidewalk under umbrellas and on two levels inside. As you enter the main door and step down, the kitchen is the right and a bar is at the other end of the room to the left. The inside dining area is only partially covered ans has a number of trees to make the atmosphere even more pleasant. My server brought me the menu. It has five main sections – Cold Section – sashimi and rolls, Hot Section – Fried Calamari, Tempura Greens, Artichoke Hearts, and Roasted Carrots, Main Courses – Burger, Chickens, Steaks, Catch of the Day, Octopus, Pasta and Veggie Specials, Salads, and Desserts. There are lots of choices for vegetarians on the menu.

I was in the mood for tacos. In the Hot Section, there are short-rib tacos (3) on corn tortillas with avocado salsa, onions and cilantro. I ordered these and a Diet Coke to drink. Each of the three tacos came with three or four pieces of short rib that had been braised for six hours. There were served with lime and salsa. They were excellent – both in flavor and portion size. I was impressed.

The atmosphere at Mejibo is very comfortable. The food very good and the service was attentive and quick.
