In Baja California Sur, gastronomy is perceived not merely through the plate, but also through the land, the memories, and the hands that have cultivated it for generations. Based on this premise, Sabores de Sudcalifornia was established, a festival that honors the state’s culinary identity from its most authentic roots. The event is held below restaurant Dona Pame in the orchard of Villa del Carmen, a historic residence nearly 200 years old, situated in the town of Miraflores, Baja California Sur. This venue serves not merely as a backdrop but as a vibrant testament to the passage of time, rural traditions, and the cultural evolution of the region. Founded by Lucy Trasvina, in honor of her mother, Carmen Consuelo Fiol Montaño, a visionary whose culinary expertise has established a tradition that continues to embody flavor, consistency, and reverence for local ingredients.
