Located on Avenue Forjadores in Zacatal, a neighborhood west of the highway at the light by Chedraui on the way to the airport is the San Jose del Cabo Food Truck Park. This is a little bit of a misnomer as what it really is is a food court with permanent stands offering almost every kind of food. You can choose from tacos, pizza, pasta, sandwiches, sushi, waffles, chicken wings, hamburgers, all kinds of french fries and more. It is open from 5:00pm to 11:30 pm on Tuesday through Sunday.
The atmosphere is great. There are tables throughout the middle of the park with a big tree and a stage at one end for live music. When we were there a duo was performing with a great vocalist – Berenice Noriega – and guitarist.
We walked around looking at all of the different stalls and ended up at Gorilla Fries. Their menu includes special fries, hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches and drinks. The prices are great. As I am currently on a plant based diet, I ordered a veggie sandwich that had avocado, cucumbers, lettuce and tomatoes. It came with french fries. Our friends, Holly and German ordered a hamburger and a chicken burger – both came with fries. We had lemonade and a sugar free mango drink.
While we ate the great food, we listened to the duo play a wide range of tunes in both Spanish and english. It was a great evening and we all would definitely go back again.
