With home ownership, there is always something to do. Whether it is ongoing maintenance (see posts about interior and exterior painting), safety and security (see post about motion sensor lights and cameras) or adding some features to make life just a little better.

We had Home Maintenance and Improvements by Eduardo build pergolas for us both in the front courtyard and the back yard area. To make the back even more useable at night, we decided to add a rope light to the bottom of the pergola to give a little more atmosphere to the area at night. Eduardo’s team figured out how to install it to link it the the existing electrical system. The long rope light, which can change color, rotate or flash was mounted to the bottom of the pergola and then along the mall on the outer wall by the kitchen and dining room of the townhouse. The installation went smoothly and it looked great at night.

The wall of closets in our master bedroom includes on row that was made of up both drawers and a series of shelves. We found that the shelf space was not being used to our best advantage. We asked Eduardo to have his carpenter contact match the doors on the closets for a door to cover the shelves. He came to carefully measure the open area, take pictures of the design of the doors to prepare a quote for us. Once approved, a week later, he arrived with the new door and installed it. Now the space is fully used.

We noticed bubbling and peeling in the paint at the bottom of the wall by the toilet in our hall bathroom (attached to the second bedroom on the main floor). Eduardo reviewed it and determined that the problem was a leak from the tiles in the shower on the other side of the wall, where one tile was also cracked. His team replaced the tile and grouted tiles throughout the shower to ensure that there would be no more leaks. Once done, they scraped the wall put a kill on the surface and then repainted it.
