The impetus for Enjoy Los Cabos Life came when I brought an editorial, photo and film crew to Los Cabos to create content for Ocean Home magazine. We had owned property in Los Cabos since 1991 and seen incredible changes since that time. In doing some research for the trip, I discovered that there were very few sources of good information about the region. Los Cabos Tourism provided nice stories to promote tourism and Los Cabos Guide had lots of listings but no real stories. Also, the focus of much of what was available appeared to be about Cabo San Lucas and the tourist corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. Little, if anything was available about the East Cape, San Jose del Cabo and the Pacific side of Baja including Todos Santos. I know that people living in Los Cabos or visiting wanted much more information about the accommodations, real estate, dining, activities, lifestyle, culture and people of Los Cabos.
This resulted in the creation of Enjoy Los Cabos Life on Facebook in June 2019. The mission of the Facebook page was to provide information on all five regions of Los Cabos – East Cape, San Jose del Cabo, Tourist Corridor, Cabo San Lucas and the Pacific Side. Unlike many social media pages that provide a few lines, a photo or video and lots of hash tags, I wanted Enjoy Los Cabos Life to tell stories. Stories of the people, the businesses, the experiences and the lifestyle that you find in this wonderful place at the tip of the Baja Peninsula in Mexico.
Since the launch of the Facebook page, it has reached over 10 million people, split almost equally between audiences in the United States and Canada and Los Cabos residents and expats. Stories receive high engagement with 20 percent or more liking, commenting or sharing the stories. Currently, each story on average gets 10 to 20 thousand readers. We also launched an Instagram page and YouTube Channel for Enjoy Los Cabos Life.
I wanted to wait until I had enough content on each of the regions and each of the main topic areas for each region – accommodation, real estate, dining, shopping, entertainment, food and drink, activities and lifestyle – before creating the website. Now, with over 1,500 hundred stories from which to choose, the website is ready to launch. We will continue to load stories and update content regularly.
Thank you for being fans of Los Cabos, of our social media platforms and for visiting the website.
