If you have seen elaborate sandcastles at resorts in Los Cabos, they were probably created by Brett Stocker. For decades, Brett has competed around the world in sand castle competitions, winning many of them. He was recently asked to create a sandcastle at Diamante on the Pacific coast to celebrate fourth of July. Diamante has one of the biggest salt water lagoons in the area and Brett was asked to create a sandcastle near the lagoon that feature Diamante and their world-class golf courses.

The creation of a sandcastle is always a challenge. There needs to be the right kind of sand and Brett’s creation had full of incredible details – windows, moats, bridges, turrets. Forms are often used in creating the stable base for large sand castles and glues are used to stabilize the sand. Hurricane Beatriz was on its way into Cabo San Lucas as this sandcastle was being built and so it was necessary to cover the process to protect it from the potential of lots of rain.
