A year ago, concert rock violinist, Aaron Meyer visited friends in Los Cabos. In his short visit, he ate at Sr. Pez five times. Operating a charitable foundation of his own in the United States and being completely aware of the goals and vision of the Monarch Effect Foundation to help highly motivated and qualified students in Los Cabos to attend the best universities in the world, he suggested that there must be a charitable concert on the beach at Sr. Pez in the arroyo by Dreams Hotel. With that suggestion Armando, the owner of Sr. Pez and his wife immediately agreed to become a sponsor of the event. This started the process of a year of planning to make the event come to fruition and be successful.

The event was advertised and quickly sold more tickets than seats, requiring the organizers – Sr. Pez and Monarch Effect Foundation founders, Lisa Heid, Eric Parizek and Elizabeth Fernandez to arrange even more seating. Armando and Sr Pez provided a complete buffet of extraordinary seafood dishes for the attendees – tacos, curricanes, Tuna Tartar, ceviche and more. The Orquestra Casa de Musica de Los Cabos agreed to perform with Aaron Meyer in exchange for the donation of instruments made possible by Richard and Glenna Tannenbaum. Volunteers from the Monarch Foundation played a major role in the logistics of the event, selling tickets and its implementation.

The result was an incredible evening of food, music and information about the programs put in place by the Monarch Effect Foundation to support Los Cabos students achieve their dreams of a world-class education at colleges around the world and to provide mentorship and preparation for college life outside of Los Cabos. Aaron Meyer described his rehearsals with the orchestra and the need to start simple – in this case with Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. However, the music quickly got more complicated as it moved through concert rock versions of classical songs to great rock music. It was an amazing night.
