While the average resident and visitor to Los Cabos may be a little older, almost everyone is active. Whether they take to the water – snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing, paddle boarding – or the dessert – hiking, UTV tours, horseback or camel rides – or stay near their resort to swim, golf or play games, the residents and visitors are on the move. As a result, the growth of court games in Los Cabos has been amazing. Whether you like to play tennis, pickleball or paddleball, there are not only courts throughout the area but frequent competitions as well.

We played paddle tennis at our condo in Wailea, Maui but it was at our house in Zacatitos that I learned about the growth of pickleball. Several of our neighbors built their own pickleball courts and set up regular games with other members of the Zacatitos community. I started to notice posts in Facebook that offered time on pickleball courts in Los Barriles, both at the Playa Sol Resort and at Tres Palapas Baja Pickleball Resort. A Google search provided a long list of resorts that have pickleball courts that offer access to the public. There is even and organization – Cabo Pickleball Pro’s – that can help with court time and sets up competitions.

In San Jose del Cabo, Club La Huerta has tennis, pickleball and paddle ball courts. Paddle Ball has been upgraded since we played in Maui as the courts have glass walls so the ball can be played off the wall, like squash or racquetball. Neighbors have told us how they have joined tournaments in Querencia. We just noticed paddleball courts being built on the mountain side of the highway in Chileno as well.
