Dental Implants at Dental Studio by Pedro Ortiz

John Anderson, Editor

My wife, Beth was a dental hygienist by profession. Unfortunately, despite all of her precautions, her teeth have needed a fair amount of work. Having had incredible experiences with Pedro Ortiz, she decided to have her mouth totally fixed. This included both upper implants and lower implants and a bridge. One of the upper implants required a bone graft to prepare for the implant.

The process started with a 3D scan of her mouth to identify what actually needed to be done. The bone graft was then done followed by the placing of the titanium posts for the implants in her jaw. Great care is taken to make sure that her mouth healed correctly, including three days of infrared laser treatments after each post or graft as well as antibiotics. There is then a wait of several months as the posts set and the jaw heals. Once, her mouth was ready, the next stage involves taking detailed impressions of the mouth with a digital device and actual impressions with a mold. The data from these are used to make the actual teeth at the lab (my crowns and implants were made with the 3D cutter in his office). Finally, the day comes to actually install the implants and bridge. Despite, the length of the process, she was absolutely delighted with the quality of the process, treatment and the results at Dental Studio by Pedro Ortiz.
