We have regularly enjoyed going to District for good food and services. Located in Plaza Peninsula just south of San Jose del Cabo, it is clear when you walk in the door that it is a sports bar by the big screen TVs that surround the huge bar in the center of the dining room and around the restaurant as a whole. There are always fans there watching one of their favorite sports but nothing was like our recent visit to the restaurant while a playoff game was underway (Dallas vs San Francisco). First of all, the place was almost standing room only. Both the inside and the outside seating were completely full. People from the outside were walking to the edges of the restaurant with their drinks to watch the game. We had to wait for a table but Sharkey finally saw us and led us to one of the only empty tables.
Despite the crowd, the service was still great. I ordered the onion soup to start, which is covered with a layer of bread and cheese. It was delicious. For our main meal, Beth ordered her favorite – Butternut Squash Ravioli with Shrimp. I ordered the lasagna. District’s lasagna has more layers of pasta (6) than any of the others that I have had in Los Cabos. With the Béchamel sauce, it is absolutely delectable. While full, we still had to enjoy a dessert.
Since we have never been to District during a big game, I was amazed at the crowd and how active they were – cheering for their favorite team, jumping out of their seats. The game ended and the restaurant started to clear. I’ll bet a lot of alcohol and chicken wings were sold that night.
