Dawn Solomon has hosted a few wine pairing dinners at Eataliano Pizza Kitchen at the back of Plaza San Lucas (the Walmart Center on the highway before Cabo San Lucas). I decided that I needed to check it out and recently stopped for lunch. I arrived before they open (2:00 pm) but I was invited in by the friendly server opening the restaurant and offered the menu. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor dining areas, a large pizza kitchen with a wood-fired oven, a separate kitchen beside it, and a small bar. The walls celebrate The Beatles with artwork.
The menu offers antipastos, salads, 14 different pastas, some meat, tuna and chicken specials, and 16 different pizzas. While I was reviewing the menu, my server brought me a bowl of toasted focaccia bread with a pesto sauce. It was absolutely amazing. The focaccia was crisp, and the pesto added even more flavor. I decided to have some bruschetta to start followed the Chicken Parmigiano as a main course. The order of traditional bruschetta was five large slices of bread, piled high with tomatoes, cheese, garlic, and basil. The flavor was amazing. The portion was so large that I took three of them home. The Chicken Parmigiano was served with fettuccine with a light red sauce. The chicken breast was thick and juicy, and covered with the red sauce and cheese. It was one of the best that I have had in Los Cabos.
Although I was very full (and taking part of each dish home for another meal), I decided to order their apple strudel with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Another hit.
I was expecting such an amazing meal from a small restaurant at the back of the Walmart parking lot. The food quality, presentation, and portion sizes were excellent. The service was friendly and very attentive. I will be back with Beth, as she loves Italian food.
