Just north of Cabo San Lucas on the Corridor is Esperanza. This is one of the resorts just named in Travel & Leisures Top Hotels in Mexico (see earlier post). The resort originally opened as one of the first Fractional Ownership properties in Los Cabos.
Unlike timeshares, purchasers received title to one month (or more) of a specific unit on the property. As an Auberge Resort, the property offers vacation rentals of its casitas, villas, suites, and luxury suites throughout the extensive resort.
Completely renovated after Hurricane Odile, it reopened in 2015 with its many amenities. The infinity pool on the Sea of Cortez, a large spa, and several restaurants make this a great vacation spot.
Chef Guillermo Gomez is said to have a creative take on Baja flavors and designs the menus for the property’s restaurants – Cocina del Mar on a rocky promontory overlooking the Sea, Las Estrellas in a garden atmosphere by a pool, La Palapa with traditional Mexican dishes and burgers beachside and La Terraza Americana a causal outdoor restaurant near the pool.
Of course, there are also a few bars in which to enjoy a cocktail or your favorite beverage. Need a little more relaxation visit the spa and its desert-like sanctuary or visit the fitness center to reduce your stress through exercise, either alone or in one of the many classes.
Esperanza is also one of the properties included in Inspirato’s portfolio in Los Cabos should you select a vacation club membership.
