Several times I have seen posts on Facebook by Cathy Catya Weil announcing that it was time to order your hot, fresh pot pies for pick up on Saturday in Todos Santos. Chicken, vegetable, and lamb pot pies were available along with tomato basil soup. I decided that it we should try these, even though it would mean driving from San Jose del Cabo to Todos Santos to pick them up between 10:00 am and noon on Saturday. So, I ordered two chicken pot pies, one vegetable pot pie and a liter of the tomato basil soup. The pick-up is in the parking lot next to Poke Loko in Las Tunas on the north side of Todos Santos. Cathy was there with a table (the cover had been taken down due to the wind) with lots of pies and soup on display. The pies were all hot. It seems to be a very active business as the comments on the Facebook post with orders was long, until they were sold out for that week.
We tried both the chicken pot pie and the tomato basil soup for our dinner that night. The chicken pot pie was delicious. The top crust was flaky (wished there was also a bottom crust) and the filling included a whole series of vegetables – carrots, potatoes, peas, peppers – along with a lot of chicken. The seasoning was great. We had the tomato basil soup first and added a little half and half when reheating it, as it was a little acidic for us – as tomato soups often are.
We will definitely order again.
