Higos y Olivos for Dinner

John Anderson, Editor

Located right at the arroyo before Artisanos, just east of Cabo San Lucas on the frontage road, Higos Y Olivos offers both inside and outside dining for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We met our friends, Bill and Tanya and Tanya’s mother, Dianne there for dinner. Our host, Fatima was as charming as ever as we were seated in one of the two rooms inside the old house that has been converted into a restaurant.

We started by ordering our drinks – beer for Bill and Dianne; limonada for Beth and Tanya and a Chardonnay for me. The menu offers a good choice of appetizers, soups, salads, meats and fish – steak, chicken, shrimp, ribs and catch of the day – and pizza. I decided to try the Cream Corn soup, Beth and Tanya ordered the Pear Salad as appetizers. For our main dishes, Bill went straight to the pizza with jalapenos, mushrooms, peppers, and onions. I choose the parmesan chicken and the others selected the Catch of the Day. We finished off our meal with apple pie with ice cream.

Higos Y Olivos (Figs and Olives) has good food, a pleasant atmosphere, good service, and reasonable prices.
