Holly Heiser Hornyan is an excellent artist from Denver, now living in Pescadero, who offers Brushes and Bubbly art classes at restaurants in San Jose del Cabo, Cabo San Lucas, and Cerritos/Pescadero. Holly painted the 35-foot mural in the patio of our townhouse in Pueblo Campestre and just finished a small mural inset on the outside of the unit.
Dana McLoughlin, one of the owners of District has supported the art events held by Holly at the restaurant. She asked her to do a special painting for behind the host desk at the entry to the restaurant. Apparently, she wanted a quite tantalizing portrait of Marilyn Monroe (which Holly toned down). Recently, there was an unveiling of the portrait for guests of both District and Holly at the restaurant, where more of her original art was also displayed in the entryway.
District provided bubbly to toast Holly and her artwork and several complimentary appetizers, which the staff offered to guests of the restaurant that time. When the time came, Holly and Dana called all of the guests to the entryway. Dana introduced Holly and the decision to have this special painting. After the ribbon was cut, and the wrapping removed from the painting, Dana and Holly posed with their hands to the sides of their faces in the same fashion as shown in the painting. The guests toasted Holly with their Proseco and cheered. It was a great event.
