Hotel California Todos Santos

John Anderson, Editor

One of the most well-known boutique hotels in Los Cabos is the Hotel California. Built in the 1950s, the hotel has gone through a few names and several renovations. It was also the subject of a lawsuit last year by the Eagles claiming that the hotel was violating copyright in using the name of their well-known song and playing Eagles music in the restaurant. The suit was ultimately settled and dropped.

There is a small indoor bar and restaurant and a large outdoor patio and deck restaurant area. The outdoor area is also often used for live music during several festivals in Todos Santos during the year. In addition to 11 uniquely decorated rooms and suites, restaurant and bar, there is a large shop that sells both Hotel California branded apparel and other items.

Demonstrations are often held in the courtyard as is the case with the pottery making shown in the pictures included here. The Hotel California is a great place to stop for lunch as you visit the art galleries in Todos Santos – enjoy a margarita or a Pacifico along with some excellent Mexican food.
