Installing The Art in Our Condos in Todos Santos

John Anderson, Editor

One of the final steps in finishing our two one-bedroom condos at Santas & Santos in Todos Santos was to install artwork in each of the units. With the condos being industrial style with bar block walls, the way to bring color into the spaces is through the combination of furniture and artwork.

We had used Art Framing Consultants from Cabo San Lucas to frame several pieces of art both for our townhouse in Pueblo Campestre and for the condos in Todos Santos. They also did the installation. With the walls in each being concrete, this was not something that I wanted to try myself. Also mounting the art with hooks on each side rather than a wire hanger ensures that they are more secure – especially for the rental.

Dulce from Art Framing Consultants brought a team of three installers to do the job. They are meticulous about being precise on the location and that every piece is perfectly straight and level. When drilling into the concrete to place the mollies, a zip lock bag was taped below where the hole was going to be to capture any concrete from the drill. After we discussed where each piece would be placed, the team went to work. As you can see from the photos, the process was done very carefully, and the results were great.  Original artwork from James Paul Brown, canvas prints from Holly Heiser Hornyan, a series of the four seasons from an Italian artist and Mexican town added to the look of our units.

Our condos now have the finishing touches that make them warm and welcoming. For more information about Art Framing Consultants visit their website at http://www.artframing.com.mx or visit them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/framingcabo
