Vista La Ribera - A Boutique Hotel on the way to Cabo Pulmo

While there are lots of benefits of living on the East Cape of Los Cabos (e.g., the Sea of Cortez, surfing, beautiful views), one of the drawbacks is the need to drive some distance to go shopping.  There are now more restaurants that have opened on the East Cape (e.g., Zai Sushi Surf Bar, The White Lodge,  The Crossroads at Vida Soul, Zac’s Bar and Grill, Buzzards Bar and Grill) so that it isn’t necessary to drive to San Jose del Cabo to go out for dinner.  But grocery and hardware shopping still takes a trip to San Jose del Cabo or Cabo San Lucas.

Recently, a new convenience store opened in the space at the top of the hill in La Fortuna that was previously a heavy equipment storage yard.  It has been well designed with a carved steel front, a glassed-in air-conditioned space inside for the store, and tables and chairs under cover outside the store.  The store has many of the things that someone might need quickly for a last-minute meal, headaches or minor health issues or just to pick up more soda or water.

Another small store is also found at El Cardon beach just before Shipwrecks.
