LATERAL CRUDO Y ASADO

John Anderson, Editor

Our favorite taco restaurant is Lateral Crudo y Asada behind La Comer in San Jose del Cabo. This small restaurant has seating both in a covered open-air area and interior dining with air conditioning when the weather requires it. Friends from Colorado had arrived and we dropped off their luggage and got back in the car to go to Lateral. The menu offers a wide range of tacos, quesadillas, tostadas, burros, volcanos, raw items – sushi, sashimi, ceviche, tiradito – and even a boxed lunch to go and some dishes to share.

We ordered our drinks and then chose the items that we wanted to lunch. For each of us except Mike it was two items – three for him. I chose a chicken pesto taco on a flour tortilla and a mushroom quesadilla. Beth had a chicken pesto taco and a Baja Shrimp taco on flour tortillas. Michele selected a chicken pesto taco and a grilled fish taco, both on corn tortillas. Mike went with octopus, chicken pesto and Baja shrimp tacos. While the tacos come with some garnishing, the rotating tray on the table offers Pico de Gallo, an avocado salsa, a regular salsa and a spicy salsa to add flavor to your choice of tacos. These tacos are so good it didn’t take us long to finish them off. The weather was great and we were sitting at table near the sidewalk.

We know that we will be back soon. For more information about Lateral Crudo y Asada visit them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/lateralcabo
