Latino 8 in Plaza Pescador

John Anderson, Editor

Our close friends, Jerry and Maura were visiting from Arizona and considering purchasing a townhouse in Pueblo Campestre Phase 2. They invited us to dinner at one of our favorite places in the hotel zone – Latino 8 in Plaza Pescador. Owned by the same people who have La Forchetta, this is a great latin restaurant, with an interesting menu.

With seating inside or outside, we chose a high table outside as it was a nice night. The food and service are always great. As the server took our drink orders, we were offered tortilla chips and salsa to nibble on. As their tortilla chips have a little chile spicing, we also asked for some of the plain chips. We ordered a variety of items from the menu. Beth chose the Chicharon de Rib Eye, which are small pieces of rib eye over guacamole with flour tortillas on the side. Maura ordered a fresh salad that has romaine lettuce, cherry tomato, mango, strawberries, cranberries, goat cheese with toasted coconut and a passion fruit vinaigrette. I ordered the Sweet Corn soup to start followed by a mushroom empanada and a mushroom taco. Jerry selected two sea bass tacos with grilled pineapple, onion and cilantro. The dinner was delicious, the service excellent and the company even better.
