BREAKFAST AT MALINCHE 17

John Anderson, Editor

For several months, I have been watching the construction of a restaurant on the top of the hill on Blvd Forjadores in San Jose del Cabo. With two floors and amazing views of downtown San Jose del Cabo and the Sea of Cortez, I had been waiting for the restaurant to open.

When I saw the tables and chairs laid out and a group at one of the tables, I decided to stop for a late breakfast. My server, Salvador brought me a menju and answered a number of questions boutMalinche 17. The restaurant had been opened for two days from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm with a menu that offered a number of items for breakfast – fruit, yoghurt, pancakes, waffles, French toast, eggs and omelets – as well as chilaquiles, burritos, and enchiladas. There is also Steak and Eggs and a kid’s menu.

We decided to try two of the egg-based items. The eggs any way you like them, lets you choose how you want them prepared and three sides from a long list – bacon, sausage, turkey ham, beef sausage, avocado, cheese and refried beans. I selected the Huevos a la Mexicana with bacon, avocado and refried beans. The portion was very large and tasted great. We also ordered the House Omelet with crispy bacon, mushrooms and refried beans, which was served with cherry tomatoes. The omelet was interesting and very thick with the other items on top or on the side rather than being in the middle of the very fluffy eggs.

I was very pleased with the food, the service and the view of this new restaurant. Salvador indicated that they will have a special dinner for Valentine’s Day and look to expanding their hours later in the spring.
