Medical Tourism Dr. Jorge Gomez Podiatry

John Anderson, Editor

We are always searching for excellent medical providers on Los Cabos. My big toes have always been an issue. From ingrown toenails to toenail fungus, I have had regular treatments in the past. I asked for suggestions for a podiatrist in Los Cabos and Dr Jorge Gomez was highly recommended. His office is located in a building just before the main CFE office in San Jose on Paseo de Pescador. I contacted him by WhatsApp from his Facebook page and immediate received suggestions for a date and alternate times for an appointment only a few days later.

I arrived and waited a few minutes in the waiting room at the front. Dr. Jorge then came out and introduced himself. He asked me to sit down and take off my shoes and socks and then asked me questions about medical conditions and my feet. He then thoroughly cleaned my feet and examined them. The treatment process started with him describing the conditions and what would need to be done. He then used a small handheld grinding tool to thin out the increased thickness of the nails due to fungus, which grows from underneath. Dr Jorge then trimmed my nails and focused on the ingrown toenails on my big toes, once again digging out the roots of the sides that had been removed many years ago. He then cleaned my feet once again and packed some cotton along the sides of my big toes. After which, he wrapped the big toes in a tape and told me to leave it on until before my shower the next day. He suggested that we have another appointment in about two weeks and then he would recommend additional treatments for the toenail fungus after examining progress.

Dr. Jorge Gomez was very knowledgeable and professional with perfect English. Most surprising was that this appointment was only $400 pesos (about $24 US). I will have my second appointment next week.
