For the second year the Michelin Guide has announced its recognized chefs and restaurants in Baja California Sur. Michelin has multiple categories of recognition: (1) Stars; (2) Green Stars; (3) Michelin Bibs and; (4) Good Restaurants. The restaurants awarded stars in Los Cabos include Cocina de Autor Los Cabos at the Grand Velas and Its chef, who now has two stars. The Green Star is awarded to restaurants for the commitment to sustainable gastronomy. Three were awarded in Los Cabos – Flora Farms Kitchen, and Acre.
The restaurants that were awarded Michelin Bibs or good food recognition include the following in San Jose del Cabo: Arbol, Lumbre, Nao, Ruba’s Bakery, Carbon Cabron, Omakai, and Limo Heritage Kitchen at Suelo Sur. The restaurants with the same recognition in Cabo San Lucas include: Comal at Chileno Bay Resorts, Los Tres Gallos, Metate, Manta, Mezcal, and Al Pairo at Solaz. The restaurants recognized in Todos Santos include Dum, Oystera, Benno, Tenoch by Paradero Todos Santos, and Campo de Agricole in Pescadero.
