Todos Santos and the Pacific Coast – Cerritos Pescadero – do not have major super markets like Cabo San Lucas, San Jose del Cabo and La Paz. Residents often have to go to La Paz or Cabo San Lucas to visit Costco, Home Depot, Soriana, La Comer or Chedraui to meet their needs. There have only been small convenience stores available with a limited range of products.

Recently, Saldado’s Market open on Highway 19 just after the last road in Cerritos and the beginning of Pescadero. Attached to the market is Los Torotes restaurant. The first thing that you see entering Salgado’s is to large displays of fresh fruits and vegetables in the center at the front across from the checkout counter. On the left is a area with shelves full of bags of natural products – beans, seeds and more.All the way down the right side of the market are cooler cases that contain fresh vegetables, drinks, dairy products, desserts and more. At the back of the market are fresh bakery items from Salgado’s Bakery including breads, buns and pastries. In the center of the market are three long aisles of items normally found in a grocery store including cereals, pastas, cookies, salad dressings, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, condiments, canned goods like soups, beans, vegetables, Spam, tuna, coffee, tea, soft drinks, jams and jellies and more. All along the left side of the market the shelves are full of household products for cleaning, paper towels, toilet paper and personal care products – deodorants, soaps, shampoos, tooth paste and more.

Salgado’s has a great selection of everyday food, personal care and household products with most of the major brands represented. So, if you are anywhere on the Pacific side of Baja California in the municipality of La Paz, it is definitely a place that you want to check out.
