Have you been in search of a New York-style steakhouse? Well, Steakhouse Da Pietro in Plaza Novvo a few blocks behind Costco is the place. From the Rat Pat – Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and Frank Sinatra – photo on the wall to the menu and the food, this is one of the best steak places in Los Cabos. Beth and I first visited this restaurant in July. It had only been open for a few months at that time. When our friends Mike and Michele visited from Colorado and wanted a great meal, we decided to go to Steakhouse Da Pietro. Pietro Gioco has two restaurants in the plaza – the Steakhouse and Trattoria da Pietro – an Italian restaurant whose chef just won an award in the Los Cabos Culinary Awards 2023. Pietro previously had Doc near the square in Cabo San Lucas for many years.

Carlos, our waiter provided us with menus and with a card that showed the color of the meat for each temperature to help those ordering steak. We ordered some Chardonnay and received a basket of bread for the table with some very special butter – regular and smoked. The menu has some great appetizers. Beth ordered the onion soup, Michele the beet salad and Mike and I had the Wedge Salad. The Wedge is incredible with large slices of bacon on top and lots of blue cheese and blue cheese dressing. The Beet Salad had strawberries on top and the onion soup was covered with break and cheese. They were all delicious.

Our choices for main courses were more eclectic. When Beth and I had visited the restaurant before, we had tried many of the sides, which were amazing. So, I decided just to have two sides for my main course – a baked potato and the mac and cheese. Both are large portions and have lots of bacon. Beth and Michele decided on the salmon served with salad and truffle butter. Mike chose one of the special steaks – 12 oz Picana – with grilled vegetables and a side of creamed spinach. It came with two additional sauces. The meals were excellent and the service the same.

While we decide we were too full for dessert. Carlos offered us a complimentary Limoncello, as he knew that I liked it from our previous visit. It was another great night at Steakhouse da Pietro.
