Terra Nova Tennessee Whiskey at Poke Loko

Todos Santos brags of lots of very talented musicians who perform regularly at restaurants in Cerritos, Pescadero and Todos Santos. One great grouping is Terra Nova – Richard Hastings, David Raitt and Tony Askins. Each have amazing musical backgrounds, and, on this performance, they are joined by Sharon Katz. Richard Hasting has been playing guitar since he was eight years old and received his bachelor’s degree at USC in the Guitar Studio. He returned 25 years later to get his master’s degree at the Guitar Studio. Richard has one of the most successful corporate booking companies in southern California. David Raitt (of David Raitt and the Baja Bougie Band) can play almost any instrument there is and brings percussion, flute, harmonica and bass guitar to many of his performances. Incidentally, he is part of a musical family with John Raitt (Broadway Star) as a father and Bonnie Raitt as a sister. Tony Askins is a master on the fiddle, adding another dimension to each song.  He is a musician, animator, and an organic farmer with a love of photography, film, and music. He studied classical violin as a child, expanding his studies into folk, rock and jazz as well as studying East Indian music at the Ali Akbar College of Music. Sharon Katz, also a guitarist is known for her work in South Africa in the 1990s, bringing hundreds of children together to form and multi-racial choir, which toured Africa on a Peace Train. All four of these performers are excellent vocalists, and their harmonies are amazing. Between them, they can perform virtually any genre of music and have an extensive and amazing song list, drawing from original tunes to hits in pop, rock, jazz, country, and soul.

Here is an example as they perform Chris Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey”. Enjoy!
