Meet Alexander R. Rodas, an entrepreneur, a skilled craftsman with leather and the owner of newly formed Uroboros. Uroboros is the name of the snake that chased its own tail and tells the story of the circle of life. When Alexander was asked how he got involved in making leather goods, he said that it all started when he damaged his leather shoes and had to find a way to clean and repair them. Months of watching YouTube videos about leather and making leather goods, challenged him to try it for himself. Importing organically-tanned leather from Italy in small quantities, he started to experiment with the craft. It started with making small card holders. He wanted his products to be unique and different so he chose to make these card wallets with different colors and styles of leather. By making the holes in the edges of the leather and hand stitching them with linen thread, he ensured that a broken thread would never result in the seam being unraveled. Every stitch is done by hand and tied-off individually. To protect the wallet, the edges are sealed with beeswax. Before launching any product, Alexander has his friends use them for a month or more to determine any issues, as well as to see how the leather ages and wears.
