Vegan Desserts - Nanafit Cabo in Cabo San Lucas

John Anderson, Editor

Our daughter is vegan as so whenever she visits, we go to vegan restaurants or search out vegan alternatives. When I visited Tropical Kitchen Cabo, a plant-based restaurant (with a few exceptions), I met Paulette (Pau) Nery, the owner of Nanafit Cabo, a vegan dessert bakery.
I asked Pau how she had become interested in vegan desserts. She described how about 10 years ago, her mother had been diagnosed with diabetes. To help sate her mother’s urge for sweets, she searched for ways to meet the craving without sugar that would affect her diabetic condition. She always liked baking and so she worked to create recipes that would both taste great and be sugar free. She tried lots of different spices and ingredients to create great tasting vegan desserts.

As she finalized some of her recipes, she decided to find a way to market her desserts. At first, this started with offering delivery on orders. Make an order on Messenger and they would be delivered the next day (meeting certain minimum order requirements) between 8:00 am to 6:00 pm in communities in the Carbo San Lucas area and on Tuesdays in San Jose del Cabo. The menu of items available included cookies, cakes, pies, brownies, muffins, cinnamon rolls and even birthday cakes.

Along the way, she met the owners of Tropical Kitchen Cabo and started to both supply some dessert items to the restaurant and to sell at their Tropical Market on Saturday evenings.

In order to get a sense of the quality, portions and flavor of her dessert items, I ordered one of my favorites – a brownie. It was large and delivered in a plastic container. It was delicious and large enough to serve several people dessert.

So if you are looking for very tasting vegan desserts, Nanafit Cabo is a great provider.
