The Vegan Food Fest Los Cabos

John Anderson, Editor

Followers of vegan and vegetarian diets have grown significant over the past five to ten years.  Apps and websites like Happy Cow help followers to find restaurants everywhere that they go.  Our daughter who is vegan searches out good places to eat and discovered that Los Cabos actually has many more choices than a lot of larger cities, support by the availability of organic products in the region. The Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Sur (UABCS) has a gastronomy department where students learn about food and cooking, including vegan preparations.  The Gastronomy Department stages a Vegan Food Fest, the 3rd edition will take place on Saturday, October 25th, 2025, between 6:00 and 10:00 pm at the brand-new UABCS campus in Colonia Portales, Cabo San Lucas (right at the entrance coming from La Paz on the short road).

The main purpose of the festival is to create a stage for UABCS Gastronomy students. It’s not only about showcasing vegan food, but also about giving them the chance to project themselves into the professional world, to experience the energy of a real festival, and to visualize themselves as future leaders in gastronomy.

The Vegan Food Fest will have a mix of local entrepreneurs, vegan product brands, student projects, food tastings, showcooking sessions, music, contests, and family-friendly activities. The idea is that every participant – whether exhibitor or guest – will live an unforgettable night, and at the same time all proceeds and learning experiences directly support the growth of our students.

This is why the festival is so special: it’s professional, fun, and community-driven, but at its core it’s all for and by the students.

Two classes of tickets are available = General and VIP with a discount if purchased before October 15.  Sponsorships are also available.  For more information visit the Vegan Food Fest Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/p/Vegan-Food-Fest-Los-Cabos-100095312717722/
