VidaSoul Boutique Hotel - 20th Anniversary on Earth Day 2023

John Anderson, Editor

What is more appropriate than to have the 20th Anniversary of VidaSoul on Earth Day when this unique property is off the grid and designed green. With a recent complete update in its solar system by Innovacion Solar, VidaSoul provides all of its guests with green power.

Joan Hafenecker has been providing rooms, live entertainment, food and a beach front experience to individuals and groups alike in Boca de la Vinorama for 20 years. This very special anniversary was celebrated with bringing the best of its history together for one day. The Crossroads Restaurant offered a special food and drink menu to celebrate. Joan brought back three bands that had performed previously at VidaSoul to entrain the guests. Paulie of Legendary Lighting and Sound provided the sound and lights for the event. And friends and neighbors from all over the East Cape came out to celebrate with Joan and VidaSoul. Attendees also had access to the pool and the water sports equipment to fully enjoy their day.

The first act was The James Band, a group from Cabo San Lucas who provided the crowd with a great selection of hard rock hits from the 70s and 80s. They performed at 3:00 pm. The next group, favorites of the East Cape, the Lost Dogs of Zacatitos toned it down a bit playing both original tunes about the Baja and a wide range of hits. The band was a little expanded for this gig, joined by the accordion and portable keyboard player, Dan Becker from Extra Large (with Russell Leal, the lead singer of Extra Large in the audience). The played at 6:00 pm. At 9:00 pm, Pura Vide returned to the stage offered an electrifying set of great rock and roll. Each band played for about two hours and the second two had the benefit of lighting by Luz D’Noche. The audience was into the music with lots of them taking to the floor in front of the bands and dancing and singing along to the great music.

We had a our lunch at VidaSoul between the first and second performances. I took advantage of the two for one margaritas and ordered a cheeseburger. Beth had the arrachera tacos (3) on flour tortillas with pico de gallo and guacamole. It was a great way to end the afternoon.

Both Fred Featherstone and Luz D’Noche provided some additional photos in addition to mine to commemorate this wonderful event and anniversary.

Congratulations Joan! You and your resort has made a major difference to the East Cape of Los Cabos.
