My wife and our neighbor Tracy are always searching for plants to enhance the look and feel or our townhouses in Pueblo Campestre. In the process, they had by accident discovered Arboles del Norte Nursery just on the edge of the main arroyo on the highway on the way to the airport in San Jose del Cabo.

My wife asked me to accompany her to the nursery to see if she could find a rose bougainvillea for the pot in our front courtyard that could grow up to cover part of the pergola that we had added. We were greeted by a woman as we entered the nursery and were asked what we were interested in finding. Beth described her interest and off they went through the nursery to look for the color of bougainvillea in which she was interested. After looking at some of the smaller bushes, the woman asked more questions and found out the long-term vision and she suggest that Beth look at ones that were much larger and already had vines. So off they went in search of the vines. With the help of two other workers, and looking at the top of the vines, they finally found one that had the rose-colored flowers in which Beth was interested. While it took a little work, they got it out of the dense area of the nursery and carried it out to our truck on the street. The worker then placed it in the back of the pickup and tied it up so that it would not get damaged while we were driving back to the townhouse. The huge vine was $1000 pesos (and a tip for the worker).

While Beth was searching the nursery, I decided to walk through and take some pictures. I was amazed at both the size and selection of plants, pots, ground cover and other items available at Arbole del Norte. There was everything from small house plants to full-size trees and palms. The selection and sizes of cacti was incredible. If you knew exactly what you wanted, the workers could take your right to where it was in this large acreage. If not, describing your vision, would get you lots of suggestions. The nursery will also deliver your choices and help you place them at your home for a small fee. Quite an amazing place.
