On Jose Maria Morelos just before the corner of Calle Coronado is an Argentinian restaurant – Barrio de Tango. The restaurant just celebrated its 15-year anniversary in early January 2026. We did not have a reservation when we arrived and the restaurant was almost completely full. We were given and table and told that we would have about two hours before the table was needed for another reservation. The outdoor seating has a pleasant atmosphere with the back wall having a mural that makes it look like it is outside of a neighborhood house. Our server brought us the menu and asked us what we would like to have to drink. The menu offers a number of traditional Argentine dishes to start including empanadas to start, melted cheeses plain or with sausage. There are a number of other starters including snacks and salads. For a main course, you can choose from pizza, pastas, sandwiches or items from the grill – ribs and a choice of a full range of cuts of steak. While we were reviewing the menu, we were offered a basket of fresh bread with two sauces – Chimichurri and olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

As an appetizer both Beth and I chose empanadas – mushroom and cheese for me and Capresse for Beth. The pastry of the empanadas was flaky and delicious. They were a great starter. For my main course, I ordered the Sirloin steak and Beth decided on the hamburger. The steak was served with a salad and the hamburger with French Fries, bacon and caramelized onions. The portion sizes on both were huge and we ended up taking half of each entrée home. The steak was easily big enough to share between two people. The food was excellent.

By the time that we were leaving, there were people sitting at the bar on the sidewalk waiting for tables. Overall, it was an excellent experience – great food, attentive service, a nice atmosphere, and reasonable prices.
