When we moved into Pueblo Campestre Phase 2, we had retractable screens installed on all of the double doors to the outside. After three years, it was time for maintenance. The screen to our master bedroom also had had a small tear at the bottom where our dog, Charlie had run into it. While another company had done the initial installation, since that time the key member of the team had left and company and formed their own business – California Screens.

California Screens offers the installation of both hurricane and bug screens for your home. the company partners with Atlas Armor, one of the top firms for hurricane screens, which can be installed for either manual or automatic electrical installation at your home. The bug screens are manufactured with an exclusive hydraulic slow-close feature (which ours do not have) that stops the screen from slamming open when disengaged.

Jose Ramirez, the owner who had done the installation of screens at our house and the townhouse in Pueblo Campestre, came to examine the damage to the screen in our master bedroom. After an initial visit he said that they would be back in two days to replace the screen. At the same time, they would do the maintenance on all of the other screens in our townhouse.

Jose and his worker removed the screen and took it out of the two ends of the roll before measuring to install the replacement screen into the two side pieces. The work has to be very precise to ensure that the new screen, which needs to be cut to length will fit perfectly. After cutting and installing into the two ends of the screen, it was remounted into the opening in our master bedroom. They then cleaned the tracks in all of our screened double doors (6) and sprayed with a special silicon spray to make sure that the screens slid smoothly when opening and closing.
