No one will dispute that Los Cabos has become a foodie’s paradise with every size, style, variety and price of restaurant available – ranging from small local places to fine dining at hotels. But over the past several months a region just north of downtown Cabo San Lucas has become almost like a restaurant row with lots of different types of restaurants available. It is most apparent when driving down Calle Libertad at night and see all of the places brightly lit. Here is a brief description of each of the restaurants that we have identified in the region of Calle Libertad in Cabo San Lucas.
La Vaca Tinta: This steakhouse that has previously been in San Jose del Cabo and close to downtown Cabo San Lucas is now on the corner of Miguel Herrera, the small roundabout that leads down to Calle Libertad. Casa Martin: Casa Martin is situated in a courtyard of an old Hacienda just off of Miguel Herrera and provides an amazing atmosphere for breakfast lunch or dinner. The menu offers appetizers, salads, Mexican dishes, steak, chicken, fish, pasta, shrimp and even pizza and vegan selections. Yerba Santa: On the corner of Miguel Herrera and Calle Libertad at the top of the street is Yerba Santa. Open for lunch and dinner except on the weekends when it is also open for breakfast, Yerba Santa has both indoor and outdoor dining with an extensive Mexican menu. La Tradicion: Located on the other corner of Miguel Herrera and Calle Libertad is La Tradition, a Argentinean restaurant. While the logos says street food, the restaurant offers lots of items from the grill – steaks, hamburgers, choriza, empenadas and more. Tres Rayas: On the second floor in the plaza on the north side corner of Calle Libertad is Tres Rayas. A seafood restaurant with sashimi, aguachile and tacos, and tostadas with seafood, there is both interior dining and dining on the deck. Trueno Coffee House: Across the street from Tres Rayas down the blook is a small coffee house – Trueno Coffee House. In the interior dining area, Trueno serves a full range of coffees and even offers live entertainment from time to time. Azar Cuisine: On the other side of Calle Libertad is Azar Cuisine. This restaurant offers a little bit of Persia in Cabo San Lucas. The menu has a number of different kabobs, brochettes and skewers with rice, beans, salad or soup.
