In 1991, we bought a two-bedroom two bath condo in El Conquistador on the now Vidanta 9-hole golf course. At the time, it was the first condominium in San Jose del Cabo. We were told that the hotels that are now in the hotel zone and Plaza Pescador would be built in just a few years. By 1998, when we started to build our house on the beach in Zacatitos, only the Intercontinental (now closed Holiday Inn) and a Best Western were on the Malecon and there was no Plaza Pescador. There was the Rusty Putter behind Mega (now La Comer).
Fast forward 30 years and we have just sold our home on the beach in Zacatitos and have moved back into our original condo (with some updates and renovations) in El Conquistador — but with hotels, great restaurants and shops within walking distance.
While we wait for our new townhouse in Pueblo Campestre to be built, this provides us with a nice place to be, close to everything. And as my wife says, finally out of the day-to- day dust of living on the East Cape. I have a nice table out on the large outdoor patio to act as my office.
We visit the construction site every week at Pueblo Campestre and have activated our membership the Campestre Beach Club in the meantime.
